ThaiChat provides this Privacy Policy to inform users of our policies and practices governing the collection, use and disclosure of personal data received by users of ThaiChat. This Privacy Policy can be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify users of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Statement on our site. We suggest users to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes. When using ThaiChat you consent to the processing of data as described in this Privacy Policy presently and as may be amended by us. “Processing” means using cookies on a computer or the use of information in any way, including, but not limited to, its collection, archiving, deletion, use, combination and circulation of information. 1. Collection and Use of Information

Our main objectives in collecting personal information is to provide you with the product and services made available through ThaiChat, including, but not limited to, the service, to communicate with you and to manage your registered account, if you have one.

2. Information requested during registration

If you wish to have access to certain restricted areas of the site, you will be required to become a registered user and provide some sensitive data to ThaiChat. This can take place in some cases such as, for example, if you wish to become a writer. The sensitive data that we may collect includes the IP address, full user name, password, email, address, time zone, telephone number and other information that you decide to provide us with and to include in the public profile and in the map.

3. More information

Your full name and your picture, if you decide to upload one, and any other information can be viewed by the people in the ThaiChat network to allow you to connect with others on ThaiChat, as specified in our privacy settings. Once you’re a member, you can provide additional information in the profile section including, but not limited to, your bio, your location, as well as your personal website if you have one. Providing additional information in addition to what’s required when registering is entirely optional, but it allows you to better identify yourself and find new friends and opportunities in the ThaiChat system. If you activate the options via Facebook, we will collect the information from your Facebook account. You will receive notifications via email on your account in a number of cases, such as when ThaiChat users begin to follow you or send you a message. If you contact us by email through ThaiChat, we can keep track of your contact information and correspondence, and we may use your email address, and any information you provide us with in your message, to reply. We may use your contact information for market ads, and to provide you with information about our products and services, including, but not limited to, our newsletter service. If you decide at any time that you no longer wish to receive such information or communications from us, please follow the instructions provided in all communications to unsubscribe.

When you visit ThaiChat, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website (“Log Data”). This data can include information such as your IP address, browser type or the domain from which you are visiting, the web pages you visit, your geographic location and search terms you use, and any advertisements that you click. For most users who access Internet from an Internet service provider, the IP address will be different each time they log on. We use the Log Data to monitor the use of ThaiChat and for the technical management of the site. We do not associate your IP address with any other personal information for identification, except in case of violation of the Terms of Service. Like many other websites, we too use “cookie” technology to collect additional website usage data and to improve ThaiChat. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer’s hard disk. We do not use cookies to collect personally identifiable information. ThaiChat may use both session cookies and persistent cookies to better understand how you interact with ThaiChat, to monitor the overall utilization of our users, the web traffic routing on the site and to improve ThaiChat. A session cookie enables certain ThaiChat features and is deleted from your computer when you log out or leave the site. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to ThaiChat. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your browser’s instructions. Most browsers automatically accept cookies. You can tell the browser, by changing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to seek permission before accepting a cookie from the sites you visit.

We will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to carry out these functions and provide such services, and only pursuant to binding contractual obligations requiring such third parties to maintain the privacy and security of your data.
ThaiChat collaborates with government and law forces or private entities to apply and enforce the law. We may disclose any information about you to law enforcement officials or government or private parties because we, in our sole discretion, may consider it necessary or appropriate to respond to complaints, legal proceedings (including summons), to protect the property and the rights of ThaiChat or third parties, for the safety of the public or any person, to prevent or stop any illegal, unethical, or legally actionable activity or to comply with the law. ThaiChat may sell, transfer or share some or all of its assets/activities, including your personal information, in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale of assets/activities or in the event of bankruptcy.
